Do AVIPOINT™ Bird Spikes detract from the look of the building?

Most people wouldn't even know that Avipoint bird spikes have been installed on a building. They are virtually invisible even from a short distance. The building pictured below is covered in bird spikes and even close up, they are difficult to see. Another consideration to make though is what the building would look like if it wasn't proofed, and left with the pigeons perching on it and their droppings covering it.

What are light, medium and heavy pressure infestations?

Light pressure

Areas that are occasionally used by birds.

Medium Pressure

Areas that are habitually used by birds during the day. These areas often overlook an important food source or places where the birds can sun themselves.

Heavy Pressure

Areas used by the birds for nesting or roosting at night. These areas are usually very sheltered.

Do I just use AVIPOINT™ on the areas that the birds are perching?

Be aware that the birds will move to the nearest alternative areas, once you have proofed the problem area. These might be different ledges on the same building or a neighbouring building. It is therefore important to install AVIPOINT™ on all potential perching areas even if they are currently not used by the birds.

Can AVIPOINT™ be used against Starlings?

In some cases AVIPOINT™ P32 can be successfully used, if overlapped.

What is the difference between plastic spikes and stainless steel spikes?

Stainless steel spikes are more durable than plastic spikes and plastic spikes are more susceptible to breaking. Plastic spikes attract dust and dirt so after a time their appearance deteriorates.
